I personally want somebody in office that loves this wonderful Country, someone that understands what it means to go to war, placing the good of the country over their own well-being and making sacrifices in the interest of the people that make these United States the great country it is. I want a Commander-in-Chief that will be proud of his country and display his pride without fear of offending someone.

OK everyone off your soap boxes and listen up.

We have to edit some of these posts continually for language , by now most of you know that language or substituted characters are NOT permitted on this site so let's stop trying to sneak them in to the posts.

Let's try hard to lighten the load on the moderators by keeping it clean and without reason to edit the posts continually.

Thanks

That is also the normal rationalization for not supporting the troops when you've got the flag tightly wrapped around yourself.

I was discharged in 1967 from the Navy as a Hospital Corpsman so I think I've been around long enough.

Most of the bills have riders and pork attached. Everyone from the VA to the American Legion applauds this bill. Sorry but that is a lame excuse for NOT voting for increased military and veterans benefits.

IMHO there is no excuse for not voting for any of these bills, especially if you run as a friend of vets/military. =) maverick

Re: Obama...

I don't expect to change the mind of anyone who believes in their party and candidate as strongly as I believe in mine. Therefore, everything we post here is for the benefit of the undecided voter. Are there that many undecided voters that come here for political information?

I've learned to respect the guys on the other side. I've had too many good times with people only to find out later that they have different political views than mine. Focus on what we have in common and ignore what we don't. As for you undecided voters, vote like me.

I believe that if you are blue collar, working class, middle class, underpaid, a union member, someone who has had a pension pulled out from under them, had their employee benefits cut, work hours extended or pay cut, then there is only one candidate who is going to put your issues first. Yes, he is a great speaker. Yes he talks of great change, not all of which he will be able to accomplish, but I believe that HE believes he can get it done. He is staying true to his messege, while Senator McCain goes straight into the Karl Rove playbook, making political decisions based soley on whether or not it will get him elected.

I feel that the VP pick was simply an attempt to steal votes that would have gone to Hillary. If I were a female and a Hillary supporter I would be offended.

I hope that I haven't offended anyone. Honestly, I'm not that worried. I'll do all that I can to get young people registered to vote, and I'll discuss the election when it's appropriate and/or necessary, but I really thnk it's Obama's year. It's the Democrats turn. I watch the polls closely, and can't believe it's as close as they indicate. I look for a landslide victory for Obama. Young people are shattering voter registration records. Who do you think they are going to vote for?
