Do you think that it was right that Jim McGrevey was forced to resign as Govenor of NJ just because he was gay and it got out? I mean I know that he went about it the wrong way and all but I just don't know how being gay makes you a bad politician?

Re: Jim McGrevey

While I do not agree with same sex relationships I have to say that I do not see what this man's personal life had to do with his professional life?? I feel that as long as you can keep the two seperate then that is the way that they should be looked at.

Looks to me like that's the problem, he was'nt able to keep the 2 seperate. That guy that tried to sue him, did they have relations?
I would not vote for anyone I knew was guy, no matter how good I thought they where.

Re: Jim McGrevey

You wouldn't vote for someone just because they are gay? That seems a bit closed minded to me. Anyway you are correct in the fact that he was unable to keep his personal and professional life from running into one another and that was his downfall. He DID have relations with the guy and has admitted to it in his new book.

I do not agree with same sex partners either not sure I would force someone out of a job or not, that may be going a bit over the top.

Re: Jim McGrevey

He did resign on his own but as per the interview that I watched with him on the view, he really felt that there was no other way to handle the situation since he was going to be blackballed everywhere! He also wanted to spare his family any further embarassment.

As for beliving in same sex relationships or not, I say that as long as two people truly love one another and are good to each other who I am to pass judgement on their chosen lifestyle?

Re: Jim McGrevey

He should have been gay from the get go, what is the point of covering it up especially when you are in the public eye like that. If a man loves a man or a woman loves a woman there is nothing wrong with that. You don't have a say in matters of the heart.

Re: Jim McGrevey

LOL maniac,
These people know that the public and media scrutinize every move they make so why do they bother trying to hide things. If they are good at what they do then it’s not going to make a difference anyway.
