Tigg, I agree... I try to not talk politics directly... that's why my initial inquiry was only if his speech made any difference in folks views of him.

Seems as it's playing out... more and more "race" issues are becoming a focus now... and none of them looking good for Obama. Should this skew his ability to take office? I don't know... but it does make one wonder about his feelings deep inside. Even with some of his own comments now. Never mind those around him.

Don't know if this is a direct reflection on what is happening in the Obama camp or not but the latest Gallup poll gives Hillary a national edge of him. It stated that the Dems. are leaning her way ???? But we all know how these "polls" go !

R, my biggest problem with polls is that, you can make your point any way you want, as long as you slant the poll in the right direction. I rarely trust them.

There is no doubt that they "wiggle-waggle" to the choice of the day!! There were some polls early on that had Mitt Rominey the man to beat-- know look who is the driver's seat in that party !!!!

His speech made no difference to me what so ever. I consider myself a Independent voter, and I was a a union man for 37 years.( OAC ) Workers 5/6.
I've never followed anyones advised on how to vote. Union or otherwise. I've always voted for the man I felt would do the best job. I've considered how he would affect my family,Country, and my job.My favorite President was John Kennedy. To this day I believe the powers that be had him assassinated. President Kennedy refused to be pushed into the Vietnam War and for that he paid the Ultimate price.President Kennedy was of Irish decent...He nor any of my ancestors( I'm also Irish ) calls our selfs Irish-American...we are Americans.Any man or woman that believes they are anything else i.e. African-Americans or whatever to me will never receive my support. Lets face facts...the President into days America is merely a figurehead anyway...The people whom run this country are the Oil and Pharmaceuticals company. I am extremely disappointed will all 3 candidates...with the number of Genius businessmen and women in our country and this is the best we could do...SHAME ON US!...if anyone ask me at this second whom would I support at this time..i must be honest and say ..at this time ..NONE OF THE ABOVE!.. I did support John Edwards....am I a racist I don't think so coz I would have supported Colin Powell....and yes not only his he a great military man...but a genius businessman...and not affiliated with Oil or Drug lobby...Holy Cow! That was longgggg!!!!

I.M.O.O. //// -- It seems that WHO ever gets up there lately ,they forget us - The hard working LEGAL AMERICANS -no matter Black,White Green,Purple,Female,Male,Irish,NATIVE AMERICAN, that put them there!!! Wax on brothers ! I greatly enjoy three or four topics,,,,,,Sex, got to admit, it’s interesting studying what turns one on makes another one peuck,,, religion is another great topic, politics and of course Harley Davidson! I am a firm and steadfast believer that two people can have a calm discussion on anything, as long as it’s not a “sway one to the other side” approach. I worked a contract dealing with immigration,, people you have NO IDEA the mess the country is in with that powder keg. But concerning today’s topic,, I say listen to each candidate and pick the one who you think most favors the things that are important to you,,,,,,,,,, if you vote your party just because a candidate is the same, you’re an idiot, and a contributor to the problem. Listen, Weight, Vote.

Monkey, I have to say, I agree with you. I've heard Rep candidates that I like their ideas, and then I've heard some I wouldn't vote for dog catcher... same for the Dems... I try to look at the candidate, not the party. To just vote a party line (to me) is a waste of a vote. No one party has all the best ideas, usually it's a mix of good ideas from everyone, that's going to be the best answer.

Sadly, with what's facing the next president... I wouldn't wish that job on anyone... it's quite a mess they have to clean up!
