Brake fluid

Question, I was wondering if someone can tell me how to check my brake fluid level. I tried to pull the front brake resevoir lid to check it and the stuff started to pour out. There is what looks like a pressure relief valve on the very top but when I push it, it doesn't seem to do anything, there is no sight glass to tell, and my service manuel doesn't explain it. Also will the technique used for the front brake resevoir work for the rear. thanks for the help.

Re: Brake fluid

If you turn the bars to the left all the way, you can check it without any fluid coming out. The rear you just remove the comer.

Re: Brake fluid

on mine the way I have my bars and controls set up I have to loosen up the controls and rotate them forward a little bit so the reservoir is level when you turn the bars all the way to the left.
