Re: 2008 Fuel System Recall?
Agreed - make a copy of it and take it with you or fax it there. I did that with the brakes service memo... I faxed it with a nice little letter to my HD "service dudes" and they PROMPTLY called me to apologize and to schedule an appt for me
![]() I just don't understand why if they have their morning "meetings" that not everyone is on the same page so you can get it all done at once!! ![]() |

Re: 2008 Fuel System Recall?
Why not start a thread were when a dealer does some thing like this we can invite them in to explain their side of it or call them out fo it.
I mean really put that dealer on the spot. Give them a chance to explain how and why, and what they will do to make sure it does not happen anymore. Everytime my dealer sees my bike they run the VIN. If goes in for a service it comes back with a spot signed off that all coces and service notices have been check and by who. Mine had missed on ecm update when delivered they caught it right way. It was nothing major so they set it up to do next service. The only way to stop this is to call them out hit them in the pocket. I am starting to wonder if I should ever travel out side Wisconsin with my HD

Smitty
As much as I would like to see some of these dealers account for the type of things they do to the customer that aren't right, I don't think any would really get involved in posting about the wrong done to a customer and other issues like liability should be considered also. ![]() If you were a dealer that wronged a customer and was invited to defend your actions on the internet....would you?

We have a news stationhere that does that with other problems with store and car dealer amazing how they respond. My fear is that new riders to HD are being lead to beleave that this is what you can expect from all HD dealers I do not agree. And am offened by those that act that way. I am also equally offened each time I see a false bad HD post. You know the ones the stealer ripped me off. My bike went down and they did not fix it ect ect. then you find they did a buch of improper mods to it messed it up them self or worst yet Bubba worked on it and did some of his secert HD magic tricks to it.. How many times have you seen post about a poorly running HD. pointing the finger at HD. Then after 20 post of so you Get " Did I mention I pulled the AC out drilled out the baffels at filled the tank with Avgas. Or my dunlap tire went at 3000 miles the chunk of steel I put through should have had nothing to do with. HD like all manufactures have thier sins I think HD dealers get acused of far more than they are guilty of. I have also seen my share of Hd's that suffered from aftermarket parts and engine work . Some how HD get the blame there also. Just venting a bit my Hd's have served me well and so have the home dealers I been to and others I have gone to on the road. The 07 RG went over 20,000 last week still runs ![]() It seems to like that Sp[ectro 20/50 engine oil.

Re: 2008 Fuel System Recall?
You'll see that I've posted POSITIVE posts about my HD dudes. They're not all bad. This did tick me off since it was a source of a main complaint since mile 10 on the bike to only come here to find an answer instead of at their shop!
Sometimes it's a missed communication from headquarters. It happens. I called it to their attention, and they IMMEDIATELY phoned me. Plus, they like me, and I'm cute, and they want me to come back just so they can have some eye candy for an hour or so LOL!!! ![]() |

Re: 2008 Fuel System Recall?
I will definitely speak to them. They are normally on top of things like this. I had a 2001 Road King that had brake pad issues covered under a recall when it was new. They took care of it.
It kind of sucks that I haven't even made the first payment on this one and already something is wrong. Oh well, crap happens I will keep a positive attitude and enjoy the ride ! |
