Cool black saggle bags dirty

I clean the leather bags but is seems later everytime I get into them I get black stuff on my hands.
Is there a better cleaner than the Harley leather care or do I need to be doing something different?

you will get dirty hands regardless as its the dye in the leather, i wipe mine down with a damp sponge then apply the HD leather Butter, i wear latex gloves to stop the dye

Re: black saggle bags dirty

I have an old set of saddle bags, that I put black shoe polish on, then let them sit for a couple of days, then rub down fairly hard to take off the excess polish. I have not had to re-do mine for a couple of years now, and they look great. Granted I like my saddle bags to have the old look since they are rather aged.
