Oil Filter Mount - 432 days old
Some have asked if the NPT plugs in the oil filter mount can be used to plumb in an oil cooler.
The answer to this is NO. They are there for machining purposes when the filter mount is made and by hooking a cooler into those ports, you bypass the filter entirely and will run unfiltered oil at all times. ... Read more

Oil Filter Pics - 483 days old
Here's some pics and text posted by "papaseven" that shows an HD filter cut open.
They came off of my 03 RK with 3500 miles on this oil filter. It is a #63796-77A filter that is used on the EVO motors with a nominal 30 micron rating
This filter was bought new from dealer on 10/3/08 and installed same day.

If your Sporty is leaking oil when hot and on the Jiffy stand its way over full most likely 1/4-1/2qt the sporty is never measured on the jiffy stand it should be done with the bike upright.

Ok guys...
Here's a great summary of a complete fluid service that joyflyin did for us that outlines what she did on her 05 softail deuce to change the fluids.
About the only thing I can add here is to keep the receipts for the oil and filters should they be needed as proof in the future that services were done.
