There's been much talk over this subject. Truth being that there are a lot of manufacturers that use synthetic oil right from the factory in new motors, some of which are listed below. Changing Your Oil (drain plugs) - 985 days old

Syn 3 MSDS - 14 days old
Good reading...
According to the "Material Safety Data Sheet" for H-D's SYN3 it is chemically a blend of 60% synthetic and 40% petroleum oils

Filter Wrench - 28 days old
Using the proper oil filter wrench will make it easier for you to remove the filter even with an oil cooler installed.

Oil Temp Gauges - 552 days old
Harley makes a digital gauge that measures oil temps and also the newer ones measure the oil level too without removing the stick. There's been many of these units going belly up and the readings don't work after a period of time and they come at a healthy price.
I like the old analog units and there's a tip when using one of these units.... Read more
