Re: Oil Filter Poll

Please keep all conversations and questions on oils to the oil forum instead of posting them in the POLL threads.

The POLL threads are for gathering information on the products and not for discussions about the products themselves .

The OIL forum is for the questions and answers.

Re: Oil Filter Poll

Sticking with the H-D filter. It meets all the requirements of the MoCo and I've not heard anything about it reducing engine life or doing damage so why change?

Re: Oil Filter Poll

I generally stick with either Amsoil, K&N or HD filters...Which ever I can get for the best price. I live in Seoul Korea, so I generally order 3 or 4 at a time and have it shipped over here. The orders from Amsoil generally take 6 weeks or so to arrive, since I buy their oil by the case...its shipped by boat...hence the delay.

Re: Oil Filter Poll

I use wix.Been to the plant and saw how they were made, also how they compare to other brands.Just a reminder to those who chose Fram, the end plates are made of cardboard not metal and we all know what happens to carbord when it gets wet.

Used the Fram filter for years on the EVO, but have been using the HD filter on the new bike and will probably continue to do so.

Re: Oil Filter Poll

The only dealer in the area didn't have any chrome filters so I went with the K&N, it was said that they are built to OEM specs, I especialy like the nut on the end.

Re: Oil Filter Poll

I'm on my third oil change on my Ultra and until I can find actual filtration performance specs from the Harley filter to compare to others, I'm using the black HD SuperPremium5 filter; Can't see it anyway so why pay for chrome.

I'd emailed Champion Labs who make the filter for Harley, but due to it being proprietary info they couldn't give me the specs for the HD.

Re: Oil Filter Poll

Always use the HD 5 micron. Cheap insurance. Plus buy them by the case at a discount. The chrome ones don't make it run any better and can't see em unless I'm on my knees. Sling M1vt20/50. Started using that in my 90 Ultra.
