Thanks for reply Glider.
Didn't HD at one time say no to syn engine oil? Yes.
Didn't HD say ok for their Syn3 in tranny, but now are hedging? Yes.
All I know is my bike now sounds like it should've from the factory.
I'll let you all know clutch progress.

Syn oil was because they didn't sell it at the time. (now the poor excuse for syn oil is available at the dealers) Still wouldn't use it at all anywhere.

Syn 3 in the trans was for convenience to stock ONE oil and make it easy for the dealers.(NOT the best choice by far for any of the 3 holes) but that is YOUR choice.

Your bike would sound ever better with a 5wt oil in the primary mixed with peanut oil but if anyone if foolish enough to try this on a $15 to $20K machine, then go for it.

Just trying to pass on a lifetime of trial and errors and where they went wrong.Some have to learn for themselves which I don't have a problem with at all.
