apparently I can't post links and such because I haven't talked enough on the forum. YES, this is a (edit) to the admin side. My opinion says this is a stupid practice. Someone might just have something nice or important to the members of this site and won't be able to actually post it in its link form.

My opinion only. Thanks for all the good reading. I don't post just to post, only if I feel it could help
Thanks again for letting open my big mouth. Probably get my (edit) in trouble.
Something to think about.
We work to keep the "big boy talk out" it just cause to much trouabl and the site soon turns into something it is not intend for.
Thats way we ask new members to read the rules.

Second one good reason for requiring a few post be you can post pictures and links is Spamers that use bots and the like to strike web sites like this fail because they are not becming back to to meet the requirement.
Sites like this one are tagets of all types of attacks.
Just the otherday info links managed to get thier code in here.
Just another way of protecting the site IMO.
This Fourm is a great place, it has for along time mangaed to avoid a lot of the problems other site of this type have. It has remained mostly on subject and free of scams.
The Mod's do a darn good job of keeping it that way.
Relax a bit make a few post hang around you may find this a worth while site I sure do.
By the way intresting reading

First thing here is you are entitled to your opinion as long as you do it politely and without language like you have done above.
We take the "be polite" rule here as well as the "no language" rule very seriously and some have lost the right to post here because they didn't agree with our rules.
The next thing is about not being able to post links until "you have talked enough". This is done so spammers do not come on the forum and spam the members.
If a member requires too much attention to edit their posts continually, they are notified and removed from our member list if it continues.

Please review the rules you agreed to when you joined the forum.

The first 10,000 miles of the machines life it had Syn 3 in it, and I noticed a lot of Trans whining in 5th and 6th Gears. With the Mobil 1, this whining sound is gone, the shifting is smooth, and the valve chatter is much less noticeable at 2500-3000 RPM.

Anyone have similar luck with the Syn 3 junk that HD pushes like crack to addicts?
I didn't notice the noise so much unless I hit a pretty good sized bump where there was a shock on the tranny, the problm i had was after riding about 400miles in 100 degree heat my shifter wouldn't return to the center position by it's self. Have not had any problems at all with this with either amsoil or mobile 1, however tranny does shift alot better with the mobil 1.I had read in American Iron magazine that some other people were also having the shifter problems and Harleys answer was to change a spring or something inside the tranny, who knew, couldn't have been their oil

Re: Engine Oil Poll

For that very reason, I use the M1 oil for V Twins. It's available widely.

amsoil is a good quialty product, I for one would rather see Spectro , Redline or M1 used first for alot of reason.
One thing I do not like about Ansoil is thier marketing tricks and high jack web sites.
You never see the others I mentioned try that
Last the Spector Platium does seem to hold more oil presure when extreme heat is the issue. They are all Quialty product and should work well in your engine. The other two holes are another subject

Re: Engine Oil Poll

I like to run Amsoil, but I used Royal Purple for a long time. I will use either of those or Mobil 1 or Redline... whichever I can find first when it's time to change.

When the temp drops into the 30s here, I can sure tell the difference between a sluggish 20/50 and a 10/30.

I sure hope you aren't running 10/30 in a harley.

Re: Engine Oil Poll

"OIL UPDATE" just pulled th cam cover off to inspect chain tensioners at 20k and there is no wear at all the plastic pad that pushes chain tight. I had used SYN3 for the first 9500 miles then switched to amsoil. Everybody says that the SYN3 is no good but if that were the case wouldnt the chain tensioners show some wear before the amsoil was put in? Did a very close insp. Wish I had took pics but didnt. It seems that any name brand syn oil will perform about the same as long as it is changed reg. Ive allways ghanged mine every 2500 and will continue to do so, HD say 5k but thats not for me.
