RevTech 20w50 every 2500 miles. No concerns with this oil from me.

Re: Engine Oil Poll

has anyone seen any thing that shows how Spectro 20/50 stacks up with M1 VTWIN.
I currently use M1Vtwin. dealer can not stock it because they can not get a deal with M1.
However they do stock Spectro Platium for 6 speed after I requested it and they now stock Spectro engine oil. Price is the same as I would pay for M1 at auto zone, and it would be nice to do some one stop shopping and support the dealer for stocking products we request.

Re: Engine Oil Poll

Not knowing the particulars about the spectro engine oil, I would say judging from the company and it's products that it would equal or better the M1 oil myself. I would use it. JMHO

About the way I see it.
And like I said if the dealer goes out of there way to stock products we demand then we owe it to them to shop there.
I found out they had it when I stop in today and ask for a quart or the transmission lube I want ed to give a friend of mine to try. The parts man was getting coffee so a saleman grabed it for me. He grabed the Engine oil not gear lube. I did not notice it at first then the parts man walk in and told the saleman "hey he use the transmission lube not the oil". Then Mike told me they just started getting the oil. I left with 1 quart gear lube 4 quarts oil.
And a cup of coffee.
darn I will just have to ride all the way back I forgot I used the extra filer I had

These cars all use it as a factory fill (M1)

Glider are you telling me that the MOCO uses Mobil 1 in the CVO bikes, but cant reccomend it to us poor (edit) with an 88"???????? LOL

Re: Engine Oil Poll

m1 for cars and m1 Vtwin are not the same oils.
While I know M1 VTWIN is a great oil for my HD. I would not go along with those that claim you can use the M1 sold for cars. No madder what brand of oil I used it would be 20/50.
I will be chaning to Spectro 20/50 platium sny engine oil in a couple thousand miles. Main reason is HD dealer is stocking it now and they can not stock M1. To stock M1 they basicly have to buy it at counter price then mark it up no one can do that.
I alredy use Spectro in tranmission on the RG so I can buy both at the same place now.
May even switch my FB over to all Spectro.
Nothing aginst M1VTWIN I just want to shop at The dealer when they stock what I ask for.

Re: Engine Oil Poll

Hey Smitty, I'll be anxious to hear what you've got to say about the Spectro 20/50 since I've also been thinking about giving it a try.
I'm reluctant to use Mobile1 due to a bad experience with it years ago.
Please, let us know what you think of the Spectro.

I have been using M1 VTWIN and been happy with it. I am sure it is a great engine oil.
I am also sure Spectro platium engine oil is as good and maybe a little better.
The only reasons I am making the switch is my HD dealer is carring it.
I ask them to stock Spectro platium for six speeds and the did now they have the engine oil also.
I owe it to them to shop there.
Will change it out soon. But today is a no maitance day I am off to the HD musem grand opening
