Re: Engine Oil Poll

Changing to a synthetic is never too late or early for that matter. You can break in a new motor with it too. The reason most don't do a break in is because it is changed after a few hundred miles and it would be a waste of $$$ doing this.
I'll bet that person that said that sells amsoil

Syn oils able to withstand higher temps than regular oil and will protect your motor better especially in the hot weather because it doesn't breakdown as easy. As long as you had oil of any type in your motor and it was changed on a regular basis with a filter, I doubt any "damage" was done to your motor at all.

Re: Engine Oil Poll

Well...after reading for half an hour, I dont remember seeing anything on PURPLE POWER brand oil. I work at Oreilly's and we sell alot of that brand. I know nothing of the oil other than the people that by it say that you cant get ANYTHING better...period. Any thought or input on using this in my Ultra?

Are you referring to Royal purple here? It may be an oil that is specific to a certain area if not.

Re: Engine Oil Poll

Royal Purple is a good oil too, it's just if you compare the additive packages that some oils have more of certain things that are more desirable to some people.

Ultra ..I use Royal Purple in my transmission....Lov it...shifting seems must smoother and no noise like the "Clunk noise " I was used to....Run Mobil V-Twin in the oil hole and only because its the easiest to find when I need it and did not prepare a head of time...Gettin forgetful in my old age...lol
