If anyone has looked much on the net, plenty of data is available, many opinions seem to out-way the data though.

Amsoil is one of the few willing to post results of scientific testing (ASTM standards). Here is the 2006 report ( I know Amsoil paid for it) the data is still relevant. I have yet to find a report from Spectro or Castrol or Mobile...
Smokintoad,I have been only been on a bit in the last week due to computer problems, but I really want to challenge you on this, you altered the title in your rsponse so it is only fair of me to ask HOW did I smear Amsoil? Everything I wrote was factual.Find one thing in that original post that was not and let me know! It would seem that you are the one who has a personal agenda here.

Steve I really do not think some read the post. I can not remember anyone ever saying Amsoils was a bad product. Maybe I missed something. It may even be a good one.
It is their market tricks that offends many of us.
I felt that way about Amsoil long before I ever heard of hdtalking.

I am happy we cleared that up. I though that was how this thread started.

There were studies in the 50's with data that proved cigarette's were healthy too. That amsoil data is very overwhelming and the study was put to together as a marketing piece. My dad sold amsoil at his shop for years and ran mobil 1 in all of his drag racing motors. I'm sure amsoil is a decent product but they market it well beyond it's means.

Re: AMSOIL- A brief smearing

I use Amsoil in all my vehicles...

Funny story... embarassing, but funny none the less...

We went to a wedding about 3 years ago and I left my wifes honda running, in the driveway unlocked, for like 3 days... never ran out of gas, nobody stole it, and the neighbors never noticed it was running. ( I live in the city.... I can just about touch my neighbors house) 3 years later that honda is a still running like a swiss watch. Now my wife was not too happy mind you... ;0) Amsoil for me! Who cares how they market it.

Re: AMSOIL- A brief history

I see Amsoil is now advertising that their oil will grow hair on bald men.
