Another Old Fart
Hi all, I am long of tooth and been on motorcycles most of my nearly retired life. You old timers may remember my first rides, the HD Topper scooter and an early model 125cc, was it a Scat or something like that?
Last year my son-in-law was at a construction equipment auction and found this 2000 FLHTPI, got it real low bid and rode it to my place. He said here, you've been without a bike for about 5 years, maybe now you won't be so grumpy!! Well, as you all might expect - he made some big time points with me. I admit to sticking to real nice days (HMMMmmm? Everyday in SoCal) for riding and keeping my day trips under 200 miles (the beach or mtns within 2 hrs). Yep, he was right on - not enough time in the day to waste on "grumpy". Glad to be here. Right now I am headed over to the Tech section for a refresher on batteries. I haven't ridden 'Ole Whitey' since before Christmas and now own a dead battery. First I have to find it, then charge it, then find my old Battery Tender. Oughtta be ready for a ride on Saturday. |
