Hello, All!
Well, my girlfriend and I took the plunge this last week and purchased the Anniversary Edition Heritage (after seeing the color in person, we just had to have it). I'd like to thank everyone for the information and discussions regarding views and issues they have/had experienced with the 2007 models. For the previous two weeks, I spent countless hours reading and researching in order to make an informed decision. Although you did not know it until now, your dicussions were highly informative and assisted us in making the final decision. Thank you. Although we've only spent a couple of days riding thus far (weather hadn't been cooperating), I must say that the HD riding experience has been everything I've hear and read about, plus more, over the years. What an experience! I can't believe I've "settled" in previous years with sport bikes and the sort! What a pleasure it is just in the way it handles. Anyhow, just thought I'd introduce ourselves and I look forward to future conversations. ~Tyke and Kelly

I'll try to get some pictures in this week or so. As far as price... with some add-ons... let's just say it was a "pretty penny." Well worth it... have put about 400 miles on this past week and a half and am still having a total blast every time!

Welcome to the both of you! Glad you've enjoyed reading through here at HDT and that it helped in your decision to get the bike. I think you'll find that there's a lot of good discussion here, great tech tips, and attitude. No egos, just some nice folks sharing their experiences and love for HD and the fun it brings.
I'm not curious as to the cost (that's so personal), but I'd be interested to know what sort of goodies you had added on to her when you picked it up? |

Re: New Member/Owner
Hey, All!
Okay... I've placed some pictures on my own site so that I don't take up much space on HDT's site here... you can browse them at the following link: www.keltyk.com/public/harley Nice, honest, non-attitudinal people is who I was looking to interface with on a HD-related site... that's why I signed-up here at HDT. So, yeah, DarkNight, I aree -- no egos. Cool. DarkKnight... yeah, cost is personal, but here goes... we paid right at about 23k -- and we didn't have anything done to it (except GAP and the prepaid maintenance, which I don't get 99% of time -- these were the "add-ons" I was referring to -- sorry, didn't mean to mislead if i did). The reason for this is/was, is 1) I used to work commission and know first-hand how unsettling and unstable it can be and wanted to take nothing away from someone's living just because I want to be frugal... in the end... it ain't no big deal, 2) As a new HD owner, I wanted to get to know "her" as she is, what does she sound like stock; how does she perform straight from the factory? I'm the type that would always be asking these questions... and I'd undo anything down the road just to answer them. 3) I wanted to make a more informed decision before rolling additional expenses into the loan. That said, within one week, I'm looking at pipes. ![]() Anyhow, the pictures were taken by my 13 year-old step-daughter... I actually kept the accidental dark ones because I thought they looked killer. We live way out on the country with six horses and all so that's why you see a horse water tank and everything (you should have seen the look on the other customer's faces this morning when I stopped by the feed store to pick up a halter and lead-rope this morning while on the bike -- I'm not kidding here). Funny thing is, a ton of bikers collect in our town on the weekends because of the country roads available. I've never seen anything like it apart from a ralley. I think it did factor into our decision to purchase a Harley. Stupid question... what's the "naming" rule regarding your ride? I have actually been asked what "her" name is on more than a couple of occasions this past week. I thought "Petunia" and " Bada** MF Gonna' Take You Out" didn't quite work. Looking for something in between... ![]() I keep saying "we"... well, the purcase was totally endorsed by my girlfriend of more than six years... However, from what I understand, I shouldn't expect anything more than a $20 gift certificate from Wal-Mart and a baked potato with a candle in it for my next few Christmases and Birthdays. ![]() ~KelTyk
