New Guy Checking In
Hey Y'All. I just found the site since I just got myself a Major Christmas Present! After not owning a bike for almost ten years, I was planning on buying a Yamaha due to the price being in my range. Then my boss decided that a whole bunch of years of hard work and going "Above and Beyond" deserved a reward. He handed me the keys to his 1997 HD Heritage Springer with only 3320 original miles on it!
In less than two weeks I have put over 600 miles on it, then had an issue with a loss of oil pressure. I dug into it and found that the snap ring on the drive gear side of the oil pump shaft was deformed and had allowed the key to slip out of place. The key was lying in the bottom of the side cam housing,so a couple of gaskets and a new snap ring, and I am back in the saddle. Looking forwards to some serious miles on this Hog. Later Y'All. |
