In Memory of Thomas Koch
It's been 2 years. My Friend Thomas passed away on his 2007 CVO Road King. He was out for a ride on a Saturday afternoon before heading out to dinner with his wife. A panel truck pulled out in front of him. He clipped the back of the truck at about 60 mph according to the police report later.
He is the guy that inspired me to get back on a bike. He had three Harley's. His CVO Road King, a little Sportster, and a 1942 WLA. The interesting part. Thomas was German, living in Germany. I travelled there and worked with Thomas for some years. Our family's became friends. He had a fascination for Harley Davidson, Route 66, and American Indian Culture. He rode Route 66 from San Diego to Milwaukee in 2003 for Harley's 100th Anniversary. My wife and I could not take that much time off (Europeans!), but we did manage to ride our Fatboy from Philly to Milwaukee to meet up with him there. At his funeral in Germany, his Harley group road their bikes to the funeral in full gear for him. It was an awesome display. I'm not sure why I'm posting now. I'm planning a 4 day New England tour in a couple weeks. He'll ride with me in spirit. RIP Buddy! |

PA-Fatboy. I think you're posting now because you still remember , care for and miss your buddy. It's nice to have a place such as this to share things like this and to honer those who have left us to soon. When I ride today it will be in honer of your buddy Thomas.
