Re: Thank you for making us FREE on D-Day
Thanks for the kind words. I did a tour in Vietnam in the infantry and that was nothing compared to what D-Day was like.
I know a lot of people make fun of France but in my opnion you should not judge the spirit of a people by the idiotic decisions their government makes. It the people who make a country not the fools running it.

Well I know one thing if I ever get the chance I am going to come visit your country; I have always wanted to see where the Marines faught at the Battle of Belleau Woods, and like Spade5 said "its the people of the country not the one running it" I would ride with ya any day!

Re: Thank you for making us FREE on D-Day
I have many French friends and have been privilaged to travel to that country many many times.
My father was an US Army soldier who fought in France. He spoke with high praise for the French people whom he knew while in their country during his service in WW II. If anyone would like to visit and excellant web site that pays tribute to the true French/US relationship then you should visit the below link. I know members of this organzation that run this web site. They are truly grateful for the sacrifices that were made. I sat thru a presentation that they made one time on a visit to the US and I can tell you there was not a dry eye in the room after the presenation. Document sans titre |
