Editorial Reviews

Product Description

Cats find this toy simply irresistible! They love to bat the lightweight ball around the track and get a kick out of sharpening their claws on the cardboard scratchpad in the center at the same time! Perfect for the cat that finds his current toys simply boring!

Not very interested
By Krystal Varnador (North Carolina)  |  March 15, 2010
I bought this product for my cat; he is about 2 years old. He is exceptionally curious, and didn't give this toy much interest. He still chooses to sharpen his nails on a chair, instead of the cardboard area on the toy. There are other cats in the house and far too many other "toys" to play with. I would recommend this for someone with only one cat or one that doesn't have many other stimuli.

Turbo scratcher great for kitten
By Cristina Watson  |  March 15, 2010
This toy is a must for anyone who has an adult cat and then adopts a doozy of a kitten. When all little Jupiter wants to do is play attack older sis Olive, the turbo scratcher is the only toy that can distract him. Then, a half hour later, we realize he is still there, mesmerized, watching the ball go round and round the track. Can't speak to it's ability to keep older cats entertained though; Olive is SO above the T.S. Only seen her paw at it once. Oh, and ours is blue. I think they just send a random color.

My cat loves it
By K. Ely  |  March 12, 2010
She is always playing with it, even when I am trying to sleep I will hear the ball moving around. I wish my ball would light up like the balls I saw in the store. I just got a plain white one but that is the only complaint I have.

Video Speaks for Itself! Both our Cats Love it
By Bubbles-Desmo (Bay Area, CA)  |  March 9, 2010
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/ROR0Z7UZIYOWG Hello,

You'll see a video below of one of our cats having fun with this new toy. We've had it now for a good 4 months and our younger cat still plays with the ball, whereas the older cat uses it mainly as a scratcher. The scratching part itself is easy to take off and flip over, so each one you can use twice. With two cats, I'd say the scratcher lasts a good 2 months per side which is good for how small it is.

It does make some noise when the cats roll it around. At night we can hear it through the doors, but nothing we mind or keeps you up. Pretty cute if you ask me!

Thanks
Danny

It's Addictive, and Interactive
By Scott B. White (Rockville, MD)  |  March 9, 2010
I've bought a number of toys for my three youngish (around a year), newly-adopted rescue cats, and only two of them have stood out as instant hits--furry mice and this Turbo Scratcher. It's so good that I ended up getting three of them, one for each cat. Since the cats did not know each other previously and I'm still in the process of socializing them, each spends time alone each day and night in his/her sanctuary room (two boys, one girl). I had a Turbo Scratcher waiting for each cat the first time it came home. Well, despite the stress and unfamiliarity of their new environment, each cat, in his or her own way, immediately got hooked on this product. The female, Snowball, was the most cautious at first. As a formerly feral cat, she did not appear to be familiar with cat toys as a concept, but boy was she quick to learn. I rolled the ball for her a few times, she stared at the contraption and at me, and then cautiously lifted a paw and pushed it. I did it again, and so did she. Later I came back to her room, and she was sitting on the scratch pad. In fact, she not only uses the scratch pad constantly, she also uses it as one of her favorite resting places. Now she periodically plays with the ball on her own as well as in response to my initiating it.

The guy cats, being guys, each started batting the ball around the track approximately four seconds after I first showed them what it was. Blizzard is very inventive and places his furry mouse in the track as well from time to time. He comes back to the ball time and time again and doesn't appear the least bit tired of it after two weeks. Hershey just arrived two days ago, and this was the first toy I gave him. Again, he immediately started batting the ball around the track, first one direction, then the other, then play pounced on it. Sometimes he waits for me to hit the ball first, then he does it. Neither guy uses the scratch pad yet, but they have other scratching posts.

Whenever I come into a cat's room, all I have to do is spin the ball once and it's like a powerful magnet draws them back to play again. I should say that I initially applied just a little of the catnip on each scratch pad, and it was enough to get their interest but they were mainly attracted to the ball and track. They appear endlessly delighted with this toy, and so am I.
