Product Description
Combining eco-conscienceness with function, the Patagonia Book Case for 2nd Generation Kindle provides great protection in a 100% recycled polyester shell. The screen can be viewed while in the water-resistant case, so you can read and protect at the same time. A poly-mesh handle makes carrying a breeze, and the plastic zipper means that you won't experience metal-interference during wireless access.

Customer Reviews:
Great but hard to close and open

I really wanted a case that would protect more than anything else. After reading other reviews I figured that this was the one. It is very difficult to zip and unzip but keeps things secure. I like the way the case folds completely open so that you can read easily with the case intact. The handles stays out of the way and that is nice. Overall great quality and durability. Just don't expect it to easily open and close.
Not very Functional

First, I am a fan of Patagonia in general. This cover is terrible. Everytime I try and open it (75% of the time I am on a commute train and standing), the zipper stcks around a corner and when I turn it to get around the corner, the Kindle falls out. You'd think I'd learn, maybe today? The fall has damaged the top corner of the readable screen, but it has not made the Kindle unusable, yet. I can't recommend this for everyday use.

For me it works very well protecting the kindle. I needed a case that could handle being transported in my brief case or my gym bag and and still be easy to handle while open and in use. I've dropped it while the case was completely closed and zipped with no damage to my kindle, the padding and protection is excellent. I never remove my kindle from the case while in use or otherwise. When I am not using it, it is always completely zipped. I like that it is lightweight and I can hold it open like a book or fold back the top cover while holding it in one hand. I use it on different equipment hands free while working out at the gym. I had tried using the kindle at the gym prior to having a case and it was just too unsteady to use while not holding on to it with hands now I can with the case unzipped. The issue other reviewers had mentioned was the zipper getting stuck on the corners I see what they mean but it's not that big of an issue at all, and mine is zipped and unzipped often. My only complaint, and why I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is with the elastic on the corners that hold it in place. The upper left corner on mine is less tight and the corner of the kindle does slip out of easily at times. But I've never had it fall out because of this. I've thought that maybe additional straps made of velcro (or tighter elastic) accross the top and bottom could help secure it. One horizontally just above the reading screen and one below the keyboard might help. Another feature I would like would be a clear plastic insert on the inside of the top cover where I could put my business card and have it visible in case I were to lose the kindle and case. I put one in the pocket but don't know that someone would check there if found.
Great Everyday Case for the Kindle 2

I really enjoy the Patagonia Kindle 2 case. I don't worry as much about knocking over a glass of water onto my Kindle while it is on the night stand or end table. The other reviews are correct about the corner straps being a little loose. I've not found this to be much of a problem unless you are slinging it around the room. When the strap pops loose, I fix it. I'm not sure about the Product Description that says you can read the Kindle and it still be protected from water. Maybe they know something I do not.
Overall, I recommend this case to anyone.

Over all this is GREAT!
In a home that has animals, this cover keeps the fur out of the Kindle!
What I don't like about, 1) Moving the zipper over the cornors by the hinge, it's too tight. 2) the inside corners that hold the Kindle in place, don't go over the Kindle far enough. Any given cornor of My Kindle pops out at least once a day. 3) While the size of the cover is great, and the handle is ok, there needs to be either a short handle on the side, so that it can be carried like a briefcase, or a long handle so that it can be carried like a shoulder bag. Nothing too long, say about 24 inches end-to-end. The one I made for my Kindle, works fine.
