Decent product but can't get replacement tips!
By researchhound (Oregon)  |  March 21, 2010
The iron is fine for what I needed it for - soldering of model railroad related wiring. My big gripe is once you've bought it and gone through the tips it came with, you can't find replacement tips and the gun is now useless. What's the point of having a replaceable tip if you can't find them? I did locate them online at $1.73 a piece but minimum purchase was 100 of them... ummm... no thanks. Note to Home Depot and other outlets that carry this product (I checked four in our area) - stock the replacement tips so you aren't contributing to the throw away mentality!
I'd give the product 5 stars but the stores that sell them without also carrying the tips get zero stars.

A great first Iron
By Brandon Barkley  |  February 16, 2010
This is my first soldering iron, and I have to say, its pretty good. It heats up fast, and does what it has to; solder. Although I do wish the warning light would change colors when it was hot. Only complaint so for.

Nice tool!
By Ryan Hollis (The great state of Mississippi)  |  February 16, 2010
This soldering iron works well. There is nothing to complain about for the soldering iron.
The included stand is a piece of garbage. I had never soldered before I bought this, and didn't really think about how hot this thing is, and i burned some paper on my desk because of the stand. Just be careful with it instead of stupid like me, and it could suffice, but i recommend getting some kind of holder.
The package includes a small amount of solder, enough for a few projects. The iron has two different tips.

Worth the money
By Joseph J. Benton  |  February 10, 2010
I only have to solder something once every blue moon and usually have to borrow a soldering iron from someone else. But for $15 and free shipping this does the trick.

Perfect for doing small electrical jobs.

It worked perfectly. The unit heats up pretty fast. I wish there was a switch on the iron, but at this price, I can't complain. Extra solder is always nice too. Very happy with the purchase.
