Poor quality. Don't bother.
By Eric S. Olstad (New Jersey, USA)  |  September 19, 2009  | 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I guess it's my own fault because I've had the same thing happen to me with a former Stanley screwdriver, but I thought the FatMax would be different. I was wrong. These screwdrivers are definitely not heavy duty. I just broke one today. The tip just chipped off. Chipped. Not bent. It chipped. Don't bother with these. Spend the extra money and get a better set.

Now, as far as the good, these have very nice handles. They're comfortable and rounded on the end for bearing down on screws without hurting your hand. Plus they have a rubber grip for extra traction. It's also a comprehensive set. I just wish the quality was up to par with the design.

Every woman needs these in her toolbox!
By Lil MamaKitty (Virginia Beach, VA United States)  |  August 21, 2009  | 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
When I first moved out on my own, my father gave me a toolbox with some basic tools. Nothing fancy, just something to turn the occasional screw. Those old tools were fine, better than nothing, but I hated how the handles hurt my hands when I used them, and the skinny handles caused my nails to press into my palms. Hey, I'm a girl! But I don't usually build stuff or have much need of tools, so I never bothered to replace them... until I bought a treadmill that had to be assembled. No way was I blistering my hands with those old tools! So I found Stanley's FatMax line with softer ergonomic handles and gave them a try. What a difference! I actually enjoyed using these tools! No blisters, no fingernails digging into my palms, wow! I had every size and style I would ever want. The price is right so I bought more tools in this line too. These may not be the quality that a serious craftsman would use, but for the casual needs of a typical homeowner, they are ideal.

very good if they don't get wet
By Lund Wolfe (Chandler, AZ)  |  August 17, 2009  | 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've had the fat max set for four months. They fit great in the hand, are magnetized for ease of putting in screws, and they look good. One screwdriver has some rust on the shaft, though. I probably let it get wet, but I have never had this problem with other quality screwdrivers.

These are excellent screwdrivers, but be sure to keep them in a dry place and wipe them dry after use if they get any moisture on them.

He Built Me a Fence
By Cornelius G. Kelly (Albuquerque)  |  March 3, 2009
My man was working outside with his friend David building a custom built wooden wall atop our adobe courtyard 3 ft hight wall. But during the building phase we realized we only had one phillips head screwdriver and this set came up on Amazon. With their 2 day service the set was here in a blink. Stanely's 11 piece set saved the day and is so ergo friendly. Marked well and constructed sturdy and so easy to handle it gets the job done. So the set is now in with the tools and we have the 6 feet height now; the privacy is astounding. Great deal. We are very pleased with our purchase.
