Great solution to a scary problem

I purchased this item after finding my 2 month old sleeping with her face up against her crib bumper one night. We first tried just removing the original bumper, only to find one of her arms and one of her legs sticking out the side of the crib that next morning. Now we can rest assured that she will not suffocate because of the bumper, nor will she end up with limbs hanging out of the crib. It's been a perfect solution for us.
Further, it does fit non-traditional cribs very well. We have one with an attached changing table, so one side of the crib has no slats at all. The bumper comes in two pieces, one longer than the other. Because it fastens to the crib by wrapping around slats and velcro-ing to itself, the sizes are completely adjustable. It's easy to install, stays in place, and works like a charm. I'd highly recommend this product.
Great alternative to bumpers

Fits well and protects against limbs that get out of the crib and could get hurt. And won't suffocate if the baby rolls over and ends up facing this protection. Recommended.
Safe bumper but no padding to protect baby's head!

This breathable bumper is a great bumper to get if you are worried about SIDS but still want something around the crib bars to keep your baby's arms and legs in. It works great to do that. However, it is just mesh and is not padded at all, so it doesn't offer any cushion if your baby likes to bang into the crib bars with their head or body. I used this bumper until my son was nine months old, at which point I switched to traditional padded bumper, because my son was constantly banging his head into the walls of the crib and waking himself up.
So for a breathable bumper, this works great. I got the universal size and it fit my sleigh crib fine. But if you are looking for a padded bumper, just be aware that this is not the bumper for you.
Peace of mind

I was always scared to put a bumper on our babies crib because of suffocation, and it wasn't a problem until he started rolling over in the middle of the night and I would hear him hit is head on the slats of the crib. I would also walk in on him in the middle of the night with his legs hanging out of the crib slats, which worried my husband that when he went to roll over he would hurt one of his legs. So, when we found this I was much more comfortable with having a bumper. I was disapointed that they didn't have it in red or black, to match our nursery, but safety is more important than decor. The other thing I noticed was the smell when I took it out of the plastic container, it may have been the actual container, but it was horrible and I did hesitate putting it in hi crib since he would be breathing it in, but it did seem to disipate after washing and having it out to breath.
Nice alternative to a standard bumper

Although my 8 month old still puts her feet above this bumper, she doesn't get her feet stuck in the slats as she did with our traditional bumper. I was sold on this when I read the review about not having to untie all the strings for the bumper in order to change/wash the sheets. I was pleasantly suprised to feel how softly padded this bumper is. It fits easily and velcro-ing it is a sinch. If she does happen to have a crazy night of sleeping and shuffles it around a bit, I just simply re-velcro it back. I can see her thru the weave as well, which is nice.
I have a smaller crib that I put next to my bed, and I did find that I had to somewhat weave the bumber in order to make it fit. Eventually she will move into her own room and a full size crib and this will fit fine I am sure. As it is two pieces, the second piece being for the drop down side of a full size crib. All and all, I do love this product, and I am going to recommend it to all my friends that are having babies, or that have babies and would like a nice alternative to the standard-tie-bumper.
