ULTRA LOW CALORIE DIET - NO MAGIC HERE!
By M. Minton  |  January 29, 2010  | 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Very disappointing--there is nothing new here--this is an ultra-low calorie diet--the meal plans are about 1,100 calories a day--which most doctors and nutritionists believe is an unhealthy way to lose weight--the recipes are bland and unappealing.

Good advice. Great recipes. Information easy to follow. Smart tips for choice of foods. All around this was a good read and great information.

I feel this book is a good step in eating right when you don't always have the time, and it offers some nice exercise examples. That being said, if you don't eat dairy, specifically cheese, this book may not be as helpful. I found many of the recipes cheese laden with rocotta and/or mozzerelli. Since I'm not a fan of cheese (for various reasons) I found many of the recipes unsuitable for me. I would love to see this book with a new edition offering many healthy recipes (without dairy) while still being low in calories.

How can dangerous chemicals be healthy?

This author promotes the use of Splenda and discourages the use of Stevia -- I may not be the brightest star in the sky, but I know enough to use Stevia and throw the Splenda (which has given me severe headaches, by the way) in the trash! Hopefully, this author is not receiving anything from the company which manufactures Splenda. Unfortunately, it makes one wonder.
