I ride in 30 deg. temp with a scarf, snowpants, winter gloves, boots, sweatshirt, and a leather jacket. I can ride forever and not get cold. people look at me funny but I dont care.

Re: Warm Clothes

the most important thing is to cut the wind and leather is the best performer as it doesn't flap in the wind as bad as light fabrics, also seal up the cuffs so air can't blow in. chaps are easy to get into and out of.

Re: Warm Clothes

I use a pair of Carhart bib overalls. I like the chaps but there is still to many places for the wind to get in. My main problem is keeping my head warm. Can't seem to find a stocking cap that will stay on. so lately I have been tying a bandana around the cap and my ears. People look at me funny sometimes but I tell them I bought the bike to ride not leave in my garage.

Re: Warm Clothes

Funny Breeze.... now you probably got that poor guy running around the Harley dealerships looking for those "socks". Baaaaaad But at least you can roll them up to be thicker... maybe even a better idea than the sweat bands....

Although I have never worn them riding, (it would be WAY too cold for me if I needed them!), I can SWEAR by Carharts!
When Cat and I owned an antique store years ago, we'd have to go to this bi-weekly antique dealer's auction, so large it was in a VERY POORLY heated 100,000 square foot warehouse and it would take from morning to night to complete selling it all! They ran it 12 months a year, some days in Winter so cold you'd be almost FROZEN by the time they got to the items you wanted!

Those Carharts kept us ALIVE some of those times, I swear! I still have mine!
