PN 80847-10 pipes

Here we go again. The HD pipes 80847-10 AKA SE fatshots 2 to 2 Slip-on
Book shows all 2010 touring and 2009 CA only.
But I like them and I have an 07. Dealer said so what no problem.
They are order so we shall see.
Anyone else tried this on any other year yet?

Re: PN 80847-10 pipes

I have run AKA Fatshots a couple of years now , But on my Vrod , Like you I was looking for something not that loud , these give me a nice tone , the disk system is nice you can find nice low and mid range TQ with adding or removing disks, The ST web site gives good recomendations on how many disks you should run on your model ,its at the very least a nice starting point till you find the rite seat of the paints feel for you. I will tell you that I bought my supertrapp mufflers from Summit racing , they are universal type they are identicale to the fatshots less the brackets , but on the Vrod I did not feel I needed the Brackets and I was rite they have not required anything since the day I installed them,I dont know if I reccomend that for touring models though, But Half the Price as real fatshots I figured it was worth the try, Also if you plan on adding billet endcaps or more disks Summit Racing has excellent prices on the supertrapps Parts and a large selection on the end caps. I am sure you will be happy with them Quality and sound seems to be holding up for me.

PN 80847-10 pipes

This is what the 80847-10 pipes look like

Pipes installed this morning.
If your looking for a reasonable priced pipe that sounds good here you go. No madder what anyone tells you they will work just fine on other years not just 2010.
After tax they were 363.00. They sound good and are not loud. Bit of a nice rumble to them and settle down nicely when at a steady speed.
IMO they worked out better than I had hope.
The duals look different than the 2 to one do.

Smitty...Those pipes look really nice. As a matter of fact, all the recent mods you have done look really good and set your bike apart from the rest

PN 80847-10 pipes

Thanks that what I was hopeing that that style would blend the extension exhaust and bags together.
They sound better than they look with out being loud.
I will post a sound clip soon as I find the other camera

Anyone considering these pipes on a year other than 2010.
I was told that that would not work
1. different size
2. 02 sensor placement
3. cat converter issues
4. wrong back pressure
After long talk with a good Hd dealer they said there was no reason in the world they would not work prefectly on my 07. so went for it.
dealer was right the pipes work and fit prefectly.
None of the reasons given why they would not work apply. So if you looking for a low cost pipe change heres the end results.
Pipes, new Drag Spc SS clamps, labor (dealer installed) TAX included 409 dollars.
We can try and figure out why the book say 2010 and 2009 CA only. But we may naver know. I wonder maybe a marketing agreement with super trap? After all thats what the pipe is and Super trap cost a lot more.

Re: PN 80847-10 pipes

The reason it says 2009 california and 2010 is because of the catalytic converter in those models. California bikes in 09 have a converter and ALL 2010 touring bikes in the U.S. have a converter. That converter blocks a lot of the sound coming from the mufflers. Harley decided to go with an open end cap on the screamin eagle pipes for 2010's to allow the sound to escape. If you find that these pipes are to loud on your 07, you can call supertrapp and buy two closed end caps, then you'll have the exact same pipe that supertrapp sells. But for a whole lot less cash.

Re: PN 80847-10 pipes

If you decide to add or remove discs, dont buy a "security" wrench from HD or supertrapp. All you need is an allen wrench or hex key (not sure what size).
