40 cal. glocks!

I've carried the glock 40 cal. now for 9 years and found it to be completely reliable. Carried the 9 mm glock for 6 years prior and it too was a potent piece of firepower. My 40 cal. has night sights and an internal laser sight.

Re: 40 cal. glocks!

Drake, I too carry a Glock .40 (Mod 22). Replaced a S&W 4566 w/it. I don't like it. Seems too fragile..got a big warning about what not to clean it with. Dropped a loaded magazine once, the bottom plate came off and I watched as the spring and ammo flew all over the room. We have several at the training range, the pins around the trigger are failing, are actually developing stress marks around them, just recently we were told to remove the extra round from the "large" capacity magazne as it will stress the spring too much. I heard such great things about Glocks, but none of these things happened with either of my prior guns (S&W 9mm (6906) and .45 (4566)

Re: 40 cal. glocks!

I've heard some stories myself. I carry a first generation Glock and have never had a bit of trouble with it.

Re: 40 cal. glocks!

I have a Glock Model 23 and love it!

I have fired about 2000 rounds through it and have not had any issues. Hopefully, it stays that way.

Re: 40 cal. glocks!

When I was carrying professionally, I carried a G23. Fine gun and utterly reliable, but no personality. Absolutely hated that gun. Too light for the .40 cal recoil. Follow-up shots were extremely difficult. My true love (but wasn't authorized to carry) were my 1911's. I felt more comfortable and confident & competent. Since now I only carry CCW---only thing in my holsters are 1911's. Main carry gun is my Colt LTW Comm. Colt Gunsite (w/nite sites) does the night time duty carry. As my username says---45acp. Tracy

Re: 40 cal. glocks!

I have the G27 for the ease to carry and G22 whick I keep at home. Both are easy to use and clean and have never had a problem with either one.
