Of course only a very sick person could ever enjoy taking a life.
While I own guns, and know how to use them, and keep a home protection weapon at the ready when we retire for the evening, I pray every night I will never be called upon to use it. There is not one single thing I own that I would fire that gun to protect, (that's why we have INSURANCE), but if anyone of my beloved family were threatened by an intruder in the middle of the night, I'd feel I have no choice. Baring that, that's why we have 911, and insurance policies. Just my humble opinion.
