Do they have "this road is safe to travel" signs in Belgium?? I don't find any in the country I live in.

If they do, that would be the best place for a bandit to prowl, knowing no one will be able to defend themselves!

But if the sign says it's safe, they have to stay out......right?

I don't carry but have been considering getting a permit to do so. You have to go through a background check and take a class in MO.

Same here in Oregon.

I'm also considering additional permits in other states, not all states accept an Oregon permit.

Utah's permit is honored in 32 states, and I think they do out-of-state permits.

That's Great. Not sure but I think here in Florida, your permit is only good for this State. Maybe someone from Florida will fill me in.

Funny how everyone keeps avoiding the question I posed: who ever had to use their piece while on the road?

Anyway, carrying weapons is illegal in Europe. We adhere to different laws and I abide them. I do not go out with the fear of meeting people with bad intentions. If you do, that's fine. Not all have to have the same opinion (we share that right, right?).

I also understand wanting to protect yourself and the ones you love, and the constitutional right some of you have to arm yourselves. I just do not agree with the statement most of you make that carrying weapons makes the ride safer. Hence my question.. What situation did you get into that made it beneficial for you to be armed?

I carry a tool bag because I do need it sometimes. But I do not carry a computer to go on-line while riding, even if it might be useful in some situations. See what I mean?

(Off course, if I would be an outlaw and regularly used my gun, that would change my need.. And I would carry one as well..)

Drinking and driving don't belong together, carrying guns into a situation that possibly gets you mad (ever gotten mad at someone?) is the same thing.. Not having the possibility to shoot most likely will prevent you from doing so.

Ride safe.

Probably because nobody ever used it.
