Re: 9mm shooters

Let us not forget that 9mm can be boosted to give .357 performance.

Re: 9mm shooters

Maybe the wrong place to post...several gun threads running. I do carry and have 2 Glocks.. G-22 and G-27 both 40 caliber. The G-27 I carry when riding my bike because of the smaller size and fits well in a vest or coat pocket. It is of course not a .357 but stout enough to stop an aggressor. The G-22 is kept at home loaded and ready for anyone who would like to enter my locked house at night when I may not want to be awaken from my sweet dreams. I am a former army reservist and have a lot of gun experience from the late 60's. We were trained very well on the range and were some of the first to have the M16 to use on the range. Some of you may have served in the Vietnam conflict and we were trained as if we were going. I have a very healthy respect for guns but I am convinced my pistol has saved me from harm and maybe worst. Sorry for any of you bleeding hearts out there but it is a right the constitution gives of as law abiding citizens.

Re: 9mm shooters

I would have to disagree with alot you guys.I work with guns all day,and carry one 10 hrs a day 5 days a week. Its a glock 17 or a 19. I use an ammunition called double tap ammo. Its 115 gr.+p its moving @ 1415fps / 511ft. lbs. winchester silver tips in a 185 gr is moving a 1000 fps / 411 ft. lbs. So my 9 mm has more energy then a 45 acp.
Dont get me wrong i like the 45 i own a couple of them. But i also like the 10 mm,357 sig. and the good old trusty 357 mag.But one of my favorites is the 9mm.

Sorry all sounds good but in real wold they just don't produce the stopping power or put big enought hole were they are needed.
Even the Army admittis the 9 mm was a bad idea and has alllow some to return to the 45. ( was only to make Nato happy.
I have used 9mm in real world belongs on the target range or a better than nothing list. Fun to shoot cheap I have a couple just can not ever live up to the hipe and the gangster movie rep it has been given.

Re: 9mm shooters

Some people call them paper weights , a joke , window dressing the list goes on . True not as powerfull as .44 .45 ar ak or a tank but wouldnt want to be the target of one I bought a ruger after hurricane katrina washed away what little control the nopd had over the criminal element that resides in the big easy. Working for only electric utility around we were some of the first responders back in . Anyway works fine for one handed shooting draws pretty quick and not to heavy , wont cut down a pine tree but serves its purpose

Re: 9mm shooters

I have several weapons and I train the military with their firearms. I love the 9mm and I have used it to stop before. I guess when your a good aim, it really doesn't matter what you shoot. My 9mm has never let me down, but I also carry a wheel gun at times. 357mag.

Re: 9mm shooters

I have the Ruger P89, love the weapon and the features excet the grips, to thick. On the other hand, I carry a Springfield 1911 45. love everything about it. mostly use the 9mm for matches when I go.
