I have an old 22 long that was given to me by my grandfather with the instructions that it stays in the family. It is a model 19 Hamilton, I'm glad that you are sharing your love of guns with your son. My dad is the reason I love the shooting sports.

I wasn't allowed when I was a kid to own a toy gun. I only had real guns from the time I was 12 on.

Re: Shooting 22's

Way to go guys. These kids that are taught proper firearm safety are not the ones that will have trouble even with an unexpected discharge. The gun will be pointed in a safe direction and everything will be fine. Loaded or unloaded the muzzle ALWAYS pointed in a safe direction. As for 22's, I love them. I have a few, bolt actions, semi's, military target, civilian target, pistols. They don't have to be expensive to be accurate. I have a Remington 581 that shoots as well as any I own. My Browning
Buckmark sent a prairie rattler to his end yesterday. They are obnoxious critters.

Re: Shooting 22's

Well it helps that my dad is a state certified hunters safety instructor.
