Re: Does anybody shoot a 380

Oh trust me I know.....I've been watching the panic for a long time now. A friend of ours that used to own a shop has said for the last 3 years, get it while you can, that ammo was going way up in price. I didn't give him enough credit at the time, but he was dead on with his predictions. Hubby still likes to buy it when he can though.

My Walter PPK for small bore stuff is the easiest compact DA pistol I have ever used...true the short sight radius hurts long distance accuracy...but what do you expect for something that virtually lays in your hand that nice?

I've got a Colt Mustang Pocketlite, sweet little gun.

I had a SIG P230, I'm sorry I sold it.
At one time I wanted to get a Mustang to go along with my other Colts, maybe someday I will. I like the feel of them.

I went back and reread my original post and I found that I made a mistake, I have a PPK/s. I know that there is a difference between the PPK and the PPK/s and reading a response to my post made me realize what I did.

Re: Does anybody shoot a 380

In .380 I have a PPK S and Sphinx AT 380 which I shoot on occasion. I recently stumbled upon some 380 ammo at a general store that sold guns, appliances, and furniture. The boxes were dusty and priced $13.99, so I bought a few.
On motorcycle trips, when I do carry, it's often a Bulgarian Makarov. It operates similar to the PPK's, using 9X18 instead of the 9X17 380. Its far less valuable should something happen to it.
I've always liked the Mustang but never had one. Sig's new P238 looks to be a copy of it, I'd like to handle one.

Re: Does anybody shoot a 380

I bought my wife a bersa thunder .380 as her first pistol. She grew up shooting rifles and shotguns but never really messed with pistols. She was a little intimidated by my ruger p95 well she couldn't miss with the little gun. I grabbed it and sent a couple down range and was shocked with the kick the little thing had. Don't know if it's the gun or the round but it kicked worse than the 9mm.

(EDITED) You guys are lucky. here in Canada they try to take all that stuff away from us. I'm lucky enough to have a 9mm Luger, 32 Browning and a .22 Beretta but rarely get to use them anymore. I hope Mr. Obama doesn't send you guys down the same road our government has...

Re: Does anybody shoot a 380

Just bought two Ruger LCPs - one for me, and one for the Missus about a month ago. The problem is AMMO!! At a show in Pasadena this weekend, they wanted $75 for a box of plain-Jane ball (50 rnds/box)!! I had bought two Winchester white box 100 round ball when I got the guns. Using Federal Hydra-Shok JHPs for the defense load. Looking hard for more practice ammo. Got a 1000 rounds on BO. We'll see.

Polished the feed ramp on both guns with some J-B Bore Bright (red). Very smooth now!!

TQ
