Re: Dealers And The Magnusson-Moss Act

I am going through one of these discussions with my dealer right now. The shop warranty mgr is trying to say that the installation of a ThunderMax fuel control module invalidates my warranty, period. That they would not even look at the bike under warranty. Discussed with the Business Mgr and General Mgr to work through the issue. They are both good people and are working with me to get this covered under warranty. Both stated they had never heard of the Magnuson-Moss Act, so I told them I would get some information to them. It is contained in a document that is over 1800 pages long. On page 1402, the following statement is the basis for all of this.

Tough to find when you need it.

Jake; I find it very hard to believe that the GM and BM never heard of the M.M. act. Two people that ignorant of an important consumer protection law, that pertains to thier business would shake my faith in the rest of the shop.

Definately! It's been a staple in the automotive industry since the '70's. I learned about it in HS.
