Engine Detailing

Along with pledge for shining the bike, there are other products available for the black wrinkle finish on the motor that work well to restore the showroom look to the cases.

Two that I have used and they both work well are "Pig spit" and "S100 Engine brighter". They are a silicone product and work well also last a while too. I use the straw applicator to spray the cases avoiding excess on the chrome. It wipes right off but used sparingly on just the cases is much easier.

Just spray it on the cases and leave it, no further attention is needed. Any excess on the chrome can be wiped right off.

Re: Engine Detailing

I have some s100 but cleaner not engine bright so I think I'll get some of this. I didn't use an additive but just Lucas oil-which may have the same qualities perhaps. My friend has 140k on his 2002 Road Glide and was using oil on his sturgis trip. He added Lucas additive and didn't use a drop all the way home. That's why I tried it, I have used Mobil 1 before, Lucas I really have not researched. All this info is great, it's wonderful to be informed! Thanks again.

Re: Engine Detailing

Any 'back to black' type product does a good job on black engines..much cheaper than S11 too.

...and for silver engines....Gunk
