sorry so long to get back to you ...

I have an '05 vn750 Vulcan bought new 2 1/2 yrs ago that I now have a little over 24K miles on. I've really looked hard at a new Softtail Heritage that my wife & I can ride together comfortably. But it looks like that will have to wait for now. The Vulcan is a perfect bike for myself and I'll just have to keep it. The money I was going to use to buy the H-D went for a Jeep Liberty and 1st year dorm housing, both for my college daughter. It's amazing how far 20 grand will go if you don't spend it all on one motorcycle!

Anyhow, I know this is a Harley forum and I respect that. So I won't brag too much on my Kaw or the other non H-D bikes that could suit my needs for half the price . . . But I appreciate that this thread is all about being tolerant of ALL riders - and I ride just about all the time. Just not 2-up much, yet. Cheers.

The guys that make me laugh are the ones that can't go anywhere on thier bike without thier biker uniform on, alot of times those types are the loudest ones around cussing and needing to draw attention.A real biker loves to ride and is skillful at it, knows how to work on his bike and is respectful to others deserving of respect but not afraid when he needs to straighten out a (edited).

Re: posers/bikers fine line

I replied on this thread a few weeks ago and now that it's resurfaced I think in keeping with the topic of "posers/bikers fine line", that the day of the poser is over. With gas prices as they are you must admit bikes on the streets have reached an all time high and will continue to grow in leaps and bounds. More older and younger women are riding their own bikes, your momma and granny are riding, your grand daddy is sticking his cane across the handle bars, I've seeeeeeeen it. We are in the infancy of the China syndrome, bikes will be the mainstay transportation, very soon, ahso kenechiwa.

I wear mine . Jacket ,helmet, gloves, boots, eye protection and on cool days chaps and vest. If it is raining I have and wear my rain gear may not look cool but darn sure works and keeps me warmer. I have leaned my lessons over the years it worth it to wear the stuff. Maybe a posser not sure but I bet I ride many times the miles most so called bikers ride.
Don't look for a good deal on one of my low mile trade ins,
And last week I bought my 3 year old grandaughter a matching jacket shirt and jeans from Hd and guess what the price was less than the same suit at a normal store with out Hd branding. At first my wife said I was nuts then she saw what I paid for it she agreed it was cheap. To bad they did not have boots her size.
posser not a posser who really cares get your stuff on unless you don't want to wear and ride the thing that whats it is for.

Re: posers/bikers fine line

Seems that some of you don't know what I meant by the uniform comment. It is something thats bugged me for years ever since I heard a comment by a fat slob in a bar who was wearing a vest with about 1000 pins on it,black tshirt with somethin stupid written on it and 40 lb boots. This guy wasn't even riding because the only other bike there besides my Shovel belonged to a friend.Anyway he commented to my friend as I walked in about my attire, because I had tennis shoes on and the type of jacket Ward Cleaver would wear on a brisk day.My friend had to cool things down because I called him a fat pieace of s....Anyway thats where the uniform comment comes from.
