Are you running the 402's
correct air presure I check that every week , and installed cerrectly?
I have seen were tire was installed off abit did not effeect ride but wore tires fast.
I have seen all of the above greatly reduce milage.
Other factors quick take offs and hard braking also tend to reduce motorcycle tires quickly.
My RG is ridden 50% two and has some load on it every time I ride it. The frist rear I changed early at 12,200 was start of the spring riding and I did not want to have to do it when shop was busy. That replacement now has 12,800 on it I will either change it out over winter or firat 1,500 miles this spring. front still has a ways to go.
This runs the same with other bikes I have run the 402's on
I run them on my Fb also

I run the 402s. I have tried Avons, but didn't like them. And yes, my tire pressure is fine.

Re: Lousy tire recommendation

I have tried many of the top brands over the years and have friends that run different tires for different reason.
Avons and some of the others are great products, It is just for my riding style the dunlops have give the best over all .
I am sure the some of the more aggressive rides would find some of the others a better way to go. Softer compounds stick a little more to the road thats why they wear faster.

Cupping may also be caused by improperly balanced tires. Also the diagonal tread pattern of some tires at the center can cup more easily than the ribbed pattern of conventional Dunlop treaded tires...(speaking from experience here).

Re: Lousy tire recommendation

My '03 Ultra has a little over 17K on the clock.

The original Harley branded Dunlop was replaced at 10K due to a flat, and at 17K looks NEW.

The original Harley branded Dunlop on the front???

STILL on the scooter, with plenty of life left in it!

Now of course, I don't think EVERYONE will get those kind of results....for example....

How many miles do you think THIS dude gets out of a set of Dunlops?
