Good Motorcycle Shops in your area

While traveling around the country it is nice to know where good motorcycle shops are located. You just never know what will happen.

If you are ever in NYC, there is Nelson's Hawg house on 12th Street and 3rd ave in Brooklyn. Nelson is a great guy and always willing to help. Another shop is on 18th ave and Bay Street called Brooklyn's Best Bikes. Doug is the owner and a great guy as well. Sal is the mechanic and really knows his stuff.

Re: Good Motorcycle Shops in your area

Millville Harley Davidson, Millville, New Jersey

I've dealt with Sam, the owner, for over 20 years and he is one of the most honorable men I have ever known.

Stands behind his product, from the smallest bolt, to a new bike, to a used bike sold "as-is" that he poured free repairs into simply because I was unhappy, even though he had NO obligation.

Back in the early 90's, when there was a 1-2 year waiting list for bikes, and dealers were selling at 2K over MSRP, or forcing buyers to purchase a 2-3 K in accessories or they couldn't buy the bike, Sam sold at MSRP and threw in a free Harley helmet and a t-shirt. Doesn't sound like much today, but those of you who remember how hard it was to buy a Harley, ANY Harley, at ANY price, back then, knows what this means!

If you're stranded on the road, and call him, he will send out a truck to pick you and your bike up and bring it into the shop, then take you home, then bring your bike back when repaired, fully detailed, to your house or come get you so you can ride it home.

Is he the "cheapest" shop around?

I don't know, and I don't care.

Your scooter gets fixed and if he makes a mistake, he owns up to it and makes it right. He works with you to make sure you're happy, whether you spend 10 bucks or 100 or 30K or anywhere in between.

If you can find a dealer better than that, you've found another place to go.

I haven't.

Waugh Harley in Orange, Va. They have been selling Harley's since the 50's, nice folks, must be doing something right! Always friendy, if you are just window shopping or making a purchase. Good people.
