1983 FXRS Gas Tank rebuild or replace

Hello,

Recently inherited an 83' FXRS basket case. I am trying to get it running again but the gas tank is in pretty poor condition. I can TIG fairly good but its almost the point where I would be redoing the whole tank. Any good aftermarket tanks/companies around the 4 Gallon size that fit the 83 FXRS frame?

Dean about to retire after 20 yrs from the USAF

1983 FXRS Shovelhead in rebuild phase

best bet is to go on ebay that tank was a good looking tank,jel

Getting another tank is the best way to go.I by chance have an FXLR tank in my parstbox that I'd be willing to part with,or you could see if anyone on here has a tank you're looking for.

Steel Horse rider; I would be interested in the FXLR tank if it doesn't need too much work other than minor paint/body work or frame modification. What size is it and will it fit without a lot of mods on my frame? I am pretty new to these bikes.
