I have a friend who just bought a used 01 FXDXT with about 9,000 miles on it. He has installed fork braces, rebuilt the front forks and installed a Sputhe Motor Stablizer Kit.
The bike is still ungainly in high speed, hard lean cornering conditions.
My question is this, is anyone else having problems such as this? Is there anything that can be done to correct the wobbling effect? He is preparing to install a new front tire but everything else he has done has had little effect on the problem.

My 07 Wide-Glide experienced some craziness last week. Speedo went nutz, turn signals wouldn't cancel and the bike wanted to cut out when decelerating. After troubleshooting w/ a multi meter and some online guidance, it became obvious that the Vehicle Speed Sensor is bad. So I called my favorite parts guy at the dealership and he had two sensors in stock however, he also said that HD is coming out with a revision to this part so I asked if this was a high failure sensor. He said NO. HHHMMM! So why the revision? Wouldn't you think they should recall this part? I have recently talked to several guys that had a VSS failure or have replaced more than one. I haven't seen any bulletins on this. I don't want to fork out $60.00 every 10K miles for a new speed sensor. Poor engineering or manufacturing, I could care less. But I don't think it should be at the owners expense. Your thoughts? ~ Willy

Have just got my new SE Stage IV kit installed on my Street Bob 2008. It has been installed by some very experienced engine builders/tuning people. The problem is that they can not get it to run as it should even after spending a lot of time trying to tune it correct.

Acceleration is great, top hp and torque also, it runs a bit uneven when cruising. The problem is to start it, especially when cold. It does not start without giving a lot of throttle. They can not get it run run good on low rev, it sounds like it chokes it selves. They are speculating that it can be cauesd by the 58mm throttle body, that it is to big. It is a kit so it should work. Any ideas? Appreciate all support.

Hi gang,
been awhile since i been on here. I am just curious if any one else has noticed a strange noise when shutting down the engine?
Just as the motor stops it gives out a short but very noticeable whistle. Makes me look around to see if someone is trying to get my attention! I suspect it is just compression escapeing from the engine because it stops just as the exaust valve is starting to open. What is strange, is that it does this almost everytime i shut the motor off. I can't be that lucky (can i?)
