American Slang
Same rules apply. No potty mouths or using $%^#&@* to hide a bad word or it will get closed. Just keep in mind that whatever you put up has to be OK for your mother/grandmother/daughter to read. The first one I'll put up is from when I was in New England in the Navy. Nothing new to DK and the yankee doodle dandies, though

Re: American Slang
Don't feel bad, Hobbit. When I was in High School- I started smoking at 13, peer pressure you know--and we were in serious need of a cigarette we would say "Man, I'm fagging out!" That was in the late 70's/early 80's! Times do change. You DID get the 20 fags in a small package and not tiptoeing around in loafers, right?

Re: American Slang
Good to hear it. I did quit, by the way, after about 20 years with them. After we put my daughter in the hospital with pneumonia I put them up. OK back to the slang!

Re: American Slang
What about our southern bros.. with all their "fixin".
Not that they're actually fixing or correcting anything... just going to do something... "We were fixin to go to the store..." "I'm fixing to do the laundry as we speak..." Seems a bit strange! |
