Radio trivia
This one will run the whole gamut. From Fibber McGee and Molly to Opie and Anthony. Anything (clean) goes.
This one may be a little tough. Name the morning DJs on WLS in Chicago in the 70's. They actually put out albums of one of their skits called Animal Stories. One of them moved around to different stations around the country after his time at WLS. Not sure about the other. They also had nicknames: Uncle_____ and Little Snot-Nosed_____ |

I'm thinking Uncle Lars and Snot Nosed Tommy, aka Larry Lujack and Tommy Edwards, not sure of Tommy Edwards though.

Boy, I thought NOBODY would get that one. Actually, It's Uncle Lar (Larry Lujack) and Lil' Snot-Nosed Tommy (Tommy Edwards) Platinum to Zamadan! The answer to yours would be that John Bickerson had a snoring problem.
Did a paper on Shock Jocks and OTR in Media Arts. Larry was an icon in his time when Rock was at a height. Didn't think anyone would ever remember the Bickersons or other Old Time Radio. |

I'm a fan of old time radio and listen to the shows on XM satellite radio. Great stuff if you haven't heard it. Westerns, comedies, mysteries, the whole bit! It's hard to think of old Uncle lar' as being a shock jock, but I guess he could be seen as a pre-cursor. Some of their stuff REALLY rode that thin line.
Got another one for you: Regarding the Greaseman's show, what was one of his ficticious names? Extra credit if you can name the movie actor a character in one of his bits was based upon he was supposed to have a homosexual relationship with. |
