Re: T.V. trivia

In regards to the previous Belushi film and the ironic aspect of it.

SNL showcased a short b/w film "Don't Look Back in Anger" (you can view it on the official SNL website), where an old John visited the "Not Ready for Prime Time Cemetary"... lamenting his castmate's at their "gravesites"... claiming he was "the last one left" because he was a dancer. Yet sadly, Belushi was the first to go.

YES! I REMEMBER THAT!! Belushi was in a dark overcoat and hat and was aged to like 70-something. That was ironic, wasn't it? I remember thinking "What's funny about that?" My 10-year-old mind couldn't grasp the fact that it was a somewhat darker humor.

Re: T.V. trivia

Joe, exactly. If you remember, Dan Akroyd "died" going too fast... "Guess he loved his Harley too much... they clocked him at 140 before the crash...". So there was some humor to the piece, and yeah, it was dark!

Yeah, I was about the same age at the time, and didn't think it was as funny as say... Wild n Crazy Guys... but reflecting back now... it's just strange.

OK, here's a TV one... on the spy/western Wild Wild West.... how many partners did Jim West have? Can you name them? (actors and their characters)

Re: T.V. trivia

The only one I remember offhand is Artimus Gordon, played by Ross Martin. From the way you said "How many partners" I assume he had more than that and you're going to hit me with a zinger. BTW can you remember who the president was during the time period the show was set?

Re: T.V. trivia

That would be the 18th President... Ulysses S. Grant.

And yes, more then just Artimus Gordon for a partner. But... how many? Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Re: T.V. trivia

Give yourself a puck for Grant. I'll say Uncle on the rest of the partners, though I'm sure you'll jog my memory like with the Belushi question. Man, I still think about that. I had totally forgotten about that clip. It was really one that makes you think 30 some-odd years later.

Re: T.V. trivia

How about Hogan's Heroes: Where was the General always threatening to send Klink when he screwed up and what was that General's last name--on the show.

Re: T.V. trivia

"To the russian front" and "General Burkholter", guessing on the spelling. How about rat patrol ?
Anybody remember the Sgt.'s name or the name of the pvt. who wore the civil war type hat ? I know this one is a little dated mid 60's or so, but my brother and I played Rat Patrol in the woods around our house when we were young.

There was one partner "Tennyson" in the first season, played by Charles Davis, he was obviously replaced quickly enough, due to few remember him. This was during the b/w episodes.

Later on, after Ross Martin suffered a heart attack, he was replaced briefly with the actor Charles Aidman as "Jeremy Pike"... the excuse was given that "Artie" was off on assignment for the President... that way when he recovered in real life, he'd be able to return to the series.

Good try though Joe!
