Re: Grade Of Fuel Poll

I use the highest octane I can find. Its more exspensive, but when i fill me truck up for $100.00, $10.00 just dont seem to be a lot for fuel.

Re: Grade Of Fuel Poll

We've always run 93, I'd like to have the choice of 91, but as quirky as my bike can be, I would be afraid to change....creatures of habit you know....I may try it this summer just to see if there is a difference. That's my 2 cents....

I run the highest grade because the dealership told me I should, dont know if it makes a big difference but still have the new guy worries and dont want to mess my bike up.

Re: Grade Of Fuel Poll

I also run 93 in my 2007 Heritage Softail due the dealer and the owners manual says. Figure with Electronic Fuel Inj I'd better play on the safe side while still under Warranty! Later,Hi-Tek Rednek

Re: Grade Of Fuel Poll

In my 07 I run 93(because thats what HD says to run) however I have put 90 in it when I could not get 93 and it ran fine.
In my 96 fatboy I run any thing they have and it makes no difference

Re: Grade Of Fuel Poll

Well don’t I feel CHEAP ! I’ve used good ol 87 octane for years. Put 57g on my last softail and never had an issue. I do run higher octane when running the hills or two up riding with my friends because we ride a little harder then, so I do switch it up quite a bit. No drama here, 87 runs great on my day to day jaunts.

Re: Grade Of Fuel Poll

Manual says run 93 or higher so that's what I run. With prices what they are now , I
wish I could run "regular" but I'm happy to be able run period
Unk

The only kind of gas I avoid is admiral's. That stuff seems to evaporate or something, the fuel mileage goes down to about 29mpg.

Re: Grade Of Fuel Poll

Here in Calif. I've never seen anything higher than 91. I used to run midgrade (89) on my '86 fxrs, but after my motor rebuild, the builder suggested staying at 91. The fxrs didn't like 87 at all.

I'm using 91 in my RG (03).
