Suspect Coil Problem
Bike was running well when put up. It has sat about two months before I tried to crank it. Battery is hot, was on auto charger. All other electrical system work fine. Thanks for your input.

Re: Suspect Coil Problem
It sounds like the coil is bad or the wire that is hot is grounded somewhere, but usually that would blow a fuse if it was. I suspect the coil may need replacing.
Open the nose cone on the exhaust side and make sure the electronic hall effect rotor is turning when you crank the engine. If this for some reason isn't turning the coil will not fire and could get hot like yours is. The circuit is energized and not breaking to collapse the coil field and trigger the spark at the plugs.
