Trouble codes

Would a burned out brake light show a trouble code? Friend has a '03 Heritage Classic I sent him the instructions for retrieving trouble codes and he says he is getting a 6 or 7 trouble code ( can't remember) At the same time he noticed he had a burned out brake light. Could that be it?

Re: Trouble codes

Thanks Hobbit, that's the list I had. I'll have to check myself he did say it was either 6 or 7 (didnt remember). 6 is ECM and the bike is carbed so, it's not that. 7 is TSSM and he did hook up the run/brake/signal combo. I'm thinking when he said brake light he meant the signal light when he puts the brake on. Although I've never seen a burned out signal light set off a trouble code, just the quick flash. Sorry for the rambling I'm just thinking out loud.

Re: Trouble codes

Not sure what you mean by a 6 or 7, the numbers in front of the trouble codes in the post listed above are only for reference in the list.
Also the carbed bikes have an ICM instead of an ECM.
Where are coming up with these numbers from? Was it from this post?

As far as a signal bulb out, they can set a code, look in this post...

Re: Trouble codes

Current 11 TP sensor high
Current 12 MAP sensor open/low

Possibly a bad connection or water in the harness/plugs?
