marrying the TSSM to bike - '02 Softtail Duce
HI there.. We are new to this group and only stumbled upon it as a last attempt to figure out why our '02 Softtail Duce won't start after trying to marry the TSSM module to it. We read through the corresponding topics and I read one of JoyFlyin's replies where she said "patience is a virtue". How were you finally able to get it to work?? We are having the same problems you described and are beyond frustrated! We do exactly as the instructions say but all it does, even after programming the key fob is "start/stall". HELP! MEanwhile, if we put our old module back in, no problems and the Duce starts right up. (good girl)
Thanks so much for any help ANYONE can offer. All our best and thank you all for this fabulous site!!! Andrea & Todd |

The key to it all is to do it exactly as described and in a timely fashion too. If you stall or hesitate on the steps, it will not work.
Next best thing is to take it to the dealer and have they set it up with the digital tech.

Re: marrying the TSSM to bike - '02 Softtail Duce
Glider thank you.. still no luck. We stand there looking at the little "key", waiting for it to go out after ten minutes, with Todd's fingers already on the IGN key to turn it "off/on" as soon as the key goes out, for the next ten minute timing. We do this the three times required (30 min. total) but nothing.. same thing.. starts/stalls. Guess dealer IS next. Urgh!

Hey Glider, do the newer fobs (possibly the smart fobs) have to be programmed at the dealer by entering the VIN of the bike to the computer or something? Just a thought.....vacationing in beautiful WV you know, checking in on this wonderful dial up service......ahhhh! But having a great time none the less, four wheelers, ponds, and 2 very happy smelly dogs!
Good luck with the bike! |

Yes they do Joy, the dealer is necessary for programming the fobs.
