cruise control problem

I have a 04 SE Electra. The cruise control stopped working while I was riding with it on, and hasn't worked since. I swapped the cruise control module with another bike, didn't fix it. Sometimes I can pull the codes from the bike, sometimes it won't. Any ideas?

Re: cruise control problem

Have you done any of the cable lash or initialization processes on it yet?

Re: cruise control problem

I wish I can help, but let me know how you make out. I have an 02 Ultra and the cruise control kicks off when I hit a small bump in the road. I tried resetting it, but that did not help.

I was thinking of replacing it myself, but your thread makes me want to wait and see what you find.

Try the cable lash initialization.

Re: cruise control problem

I've had a similar issue, with the cruise all of the sudden leaving the building. I haven't gone thru the procedure described, but did a back tracking sort of testing. My rocker switch does not light up. It did the last time I used the cruise. The breaker is good, so I'll check into the rocker one of these days.

Re: cruise control problem

How difficult is it to replace a cruise control module on an 02 Ultra? Just got a call from the HD shop and they're telling me over 3 bills.
