Only Rear Turn Signal LEDs, Need Equalizer?

I have read a few times that if ONLY the rear turn signals are changed to LEDs that a load equalizer is not needed. One vendor during Biketoberfest at Destination Daytona also had a sign to that effect.

Can anyone confirm this? Is it true for a bike with the TSSM module?

The TSSM will self adjust but only to a degree. Some LED's draw less than others and the TSSM will adjust to them otherwise a load equalizer will be needed.

glider,

Thanks for an answer that makes sense.

Is there any way to determine which ones might work w/o an equalizer?

Only based on second hand info and what the manufacturer may say.

I can tell you the Kuryakyn LED turns will require an equalizer if you don't do both front and rear.

And what happens if you do both?
