Stripped Torx

Suggestions on how to remove a stripped Torx bolt from my derby cover. I got 4 loose and the last one is so tight I twisted the Torx trying to get it loose. I'm afraid I might have stripped it a little because the Torx "spun" in the bolt head. Help??

Re: Stripped Torx

Are you sure your using the correct size I have seen on primary cover were people use one size to small and it works to get some out.
Some times you get lucky and can get a big bit or even an allen wrench in a get enought bite to remove it.
Esy out are an option.
Other trick I have seen used as a last option is remove screw head with a dremal tool carefully remove cover then grip the bit of screw sticking out with vise grip.
In any case take your time think it throught .
I amd sure other will off some ideas also.
When you put it back They do NOT need to be all that tight.
I beleave it is some were around 14 pounds thats not much

Re: Stripped Torx

You probably used a #25 torx instead of the #27 that is needed.

Check here.
